CCR take on Big Bucks and Bristol for the first time

As the school term starts again and people roll back from their holidays, Central City Rollergirls are getting back on track to take on two teams in one day on Saturday 8th September.

The first date of their 2012 – 2013 season will see CCR’s Slay Belles take on Bristol Roller Derby, followed by CCR’s Centrinnians meeting Big Bucks High Rollers from Buckinghamshire – This will be the first time all leagues have met on track, which is sure to make for an unpredictable afternoon.

Coach Barry Fight says the Centrinnians have upped their game massively over the last season and are prepared for the challenges of this year – including the WFTDA European championships in Berlin where they may meet London Rollergirls (LRG). He says, “We have just had a month or so off as a down season, this has given all of us -players, refs, and coaches – chance to rest up and refocus. I’ve noticed the women all seem to have individual objectives and goals to work on too.”

The bouts on September the 8th should be interesting – Big Bucks have been bouting over the summer and will come to CCR with three losses and two wins, and Bristol Roller Derby were one of the teams Big Bucks beat, but they will face Slays fresh from a massive win against Plymouth City Rollergirls.

CCR have been working hard over the summer despite their off season, and victory could go to any of the four teams on Saturday 8th September, so make sure you’re there to see history being made as they face off for the first time.
