With Christmas decorations put away, the lights taken down and the cold setting in, January seems like a bleak, joyless month…but it also heralds the return of Tattoo Freeze – Telford’s annual Tattoo event and UKRDA Showcase. With Central City Rollergirls returning for the first time since their 2nd place victory at 2012’s Tattoo Freeze…things are certain to be heating up.

With most teams only a few weeks back into training after the Christmas period, the tournament is an important event, but has the festivities slowed Central City’s preparation for Sunday’s match up against Leicester’s Dolly Rockit Rollers? Central City Rollergirls A team Coach, Barry Fight is quietly confident. ‘As each Christmas has passed I’ve got a little bit more Grinch like with my approach to the festive training period – this year the squad has not disappointed. They are still hungry, but now it’s for the win instead of turkey’.

Barry Fight has been coaching Central City Rollergirls for the past 5 years; ‘The skaters are working harder than they ever have and producing some great results to show for it’

The Tattoo Freeze tournament will Showcase 6 top UKRDA leagues – Birmingham Blitz Dames, Dolly Rockit Rollers, Hellfire Harlots, Kent Rollergirls, Newcastle Rollergirls and, of course Central City Rollergirls and 2 young UKRDA leagues – Haunted City Rollergirls and Reaper Rollergirls. The Leagues will play 4 sanctioned bouts in a day, matched up using the January UKRDA rankings.
