CCR Ragers beat Severn Roller Torrent 150-128

In their third game since starting to bout in April 2012, CCR’s C team, the Raging Belles scored their third victory in a row on Saturday 27th November, when they took on Severn Roller Torrent (SRT).

SRT took an early lead after their jammer got through the pack and called the jam off early, and then continued to lead for the first few jams. Ragers scored 2 but SRT racked up the points to 29, with their blockers making tight walls, and SRT jammers zipping through the inside line with ease.

The Ragers started to close the gap when they were given a power jam, with CCR’s jammer brining the score to 28 CCR and 50 to SRT. SRT’s jammer was sent to the box three times in a row, which the Ragers exploited and the score went to 47-50.

Halftime saw CCR 61 and SRT on 71 and the CCR Ragers must have had a most excellent team talk and snack time, as they came back strongly, switching between slow solid walls and opportunistic offence, racking up 129 points to SRT’s 79.

SRT didn’t let go lightly, and met CCR with equal tactical awareness and grit, and as both teams jammers swapped seats a few times in the box, the score was 34 to CCR and 111 to SRT. After a jam where a CCR blocker hit the SRT jammer so hard that her panty flew off, the game ended 150 CCR Ragers – 128 SRT.

Thank you to SRT who were excellent opponents, and keep your peepers peeled for an announcement on the next upcoming Ragers game.
